SOLD - 1950's Springfield M1 Garand (5850005 - 28844 - AB)

Description

1/23/25 - This is a nice example of a shooter grade Springfield M1 Garand. The serial number on the receiver dates to 1955-57. Springfield-marked barrel dated April of 1955. There is a DOD proof mark on the barrel. The stock looks replaced. The metal parts have retained about 85% of their finish. Most of the wear is on the gas tube. The stock on this rifle is in good shape, with normal handling marks such as minor bruises and scratches. There is a motif lightly scratched into the left side of the stock. The top hand guard does have a small chip in the wood, as well as a small 2 inch crack. The front handguard also has a small crack, however this crack appears to have been repaired. The muzzle reads at a 3, and the throat reads at a 2.5. As a shooter grade rifle this rifle may have parts that were manufactured by other contractors, however the receiver and barrel are Springfield.
