8/26/25 - This is a Smith & Wesson Model 639, a second-generation semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm. Introduced in the early 1980s, the Model 639 was the stainless-steel successor to the alloy-framed Model 39, offering greater durability and a sleek brushed finish. It features a double-action/single-action trigger system, a 4-inch barrel, and a 14-round magazine capacity. The 639 was among the first S&W autos to incorporate both stainless steel construction and ambidextrous safety levers, making it a robust and versatile choice for law enforcement and civilian shooters alike. These pistols were produced from 1983 to 1988 and represent an important transitional design for Smith & Wesson’s 2nd Generation series. Known for their solid feel and reliable performance, the Model 639 has become increasingly collectible, especially in well-preserved condition. This one is in mint condition with just one or two tiny scratches on the left side of the slide. Mint bore. Fitted with blonde checkered wood grips.
