Description
10/27/26 - This is a pre-1898 antique Italian Army M1874 revolver, manufactured in 1886 by the R. Fabb. d'Armi di Brescia (Royal Arms Factory at Brescia) and stamped with its year of manufacture. The Italians adopted the Chamelot-Delvigne system in 1874, just after the Swiss in 1872 and the French in 1873. Initial versions of the Italian M1874 were an exact copy of the Swiss M1872 manufactured by Pirlot, before domestic production was started by Glisenti in Brescia and then eventually taken over by the Royal Arms Factory at Brescia. The M1874 was eventually replaced in 1889 by the M1889 Bodeo revolver. This revolver is all matching, with the frame and cylinder both marked with serial number MO736. It is chambered in 10.4mm Italian Ordnance and functions mechanically fine, with excellent timing and lockup. The original finish rates roughly 85%, with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, areas of light pitting, noticeable spotty patina here and there, and some areas of light scratchy wear. Fitted with checkered wood grips. The bore is very nice with great rifling, 8.5/10. It comes with 6 rounds of original Fiocchi 10.4mm Italian Ordnance revolver cartridges. No FFL required.
