Beautiful WWII German Luftwaffe Officer's Wool Overcoat

7/14/26 - For sale is an excellent WWII German Luftwaffe Officer's wool overcoat manufactured by Lago-Mü. This double-breasted style, full length greatcoat comes in a grey wool with a matching-colored lightweight canvas liner. This particular coat bears the makers stamp on the inside of the left chest of the coat, which says "48 / Lago-Mü / 44 48 / 96 / 122 65 / M. 41". These numbers correspond to the size of the coat:

48 - European Size

44 - Collar Size (cm)

96 - Chest Circumference (cm)

122 - Overall Back Length (cm)

65 - Sleeve Length (cm)

The exterior of the coat has 10 pebbled buttons (5 on each side), which are in great condition with no signs of loose threads. All of the seams on the jacket are in great shape with no signs of rips or tears. The collar tabs and the shoulder boards appear to have been re-sewn or adhered to the coat through time. The golden-yellow collar tabs bear the Hauptmann (Captain) rank, and are representative of Officers of the Flight Crew, Pilots, and Fallschirmjager (German Paratroopers). The Hauptmann rank shoulder boards are sewn into the sleeve seams and connect to the top of the jacket by the two silver pebbled buttons on top of the shoulders.
