09/28/26 - For sale a Belgian double-barrel black powder percussion shotgun with a 12-gauge bore. The shotgun is well-aged, with the metal turning a brown, oxidized color. The lockplate and hammer have some light scrollwork. The stock is smooth but in good shape overall. The grip has nice checkering. There are some light scratches, and there are a few hairline cracks at the stock where it meets the buttplate. The bores are dark. The percussion nipples were replaced. The right hammer does not lock back as far as the left. The ramrod is a homemade replacement. The crosspin below the barrel to the stock is also a homemade replacement. The stock is scratched "3rd Texas Cavalry" and "Bell" on the sides. It is believed this was used by the Confederate States during the Civil War. While it is not definitive proof, the prior owner has included a book on the 3rd Texas Cavalry and names of individuals named Bell who had served.
