Description
9/13/21 - This is an interesting Smith & Wesson Special Model .38 Hand Ejector Military & Police Model of 1905, Fourth Change, in its original, matching box. The gun comes with a factory letter detailing its history. This particular gun is chambered in .38/200, and these were nicknamed the British Service revolver as this model was manufactured for the British Commonwealth nations during World War II. These were shipped by the U.S. Army Ordnance through the Lend Lease program to Britain, with this particular revolver going in 1942 and delivered to the U.S. Government in Springfield, MA. Then these were sold as surplus following the war. This particular gun may be an arsenal re-blue, we aren't certain though. The case hardening on the trigger and hammer appear original and untouched. The bore is shiny with strong rifling. The gun is marked with a flaming bomb and WB inspector mark on the grip frame, but the top strap is missing the U.S. Property marking. Excellent condition overall though, and includes an original manual.Specifications
