Description

3/1/21 - This is a very neat grouping of two pistols that were captured by a US GI during WW2. The GI's name was Staff Sergeant Michael Lewis who served in the 69th Infantry Division. He captured both of these guns while serving. The grouping includes an Astra 300 and a Walther PP. Also included is an original capture document, a brief write-up of Michael's service, and a signed letter gifting these guns to his daughter. The Astra is listed by serial number on the capture document, the PP is not. The Astra is all matching and part of the earliest Nazi contract without waffen proofs. It is is near-mint condition, retaining more than 98% of its original finish. There is just a hint of wear on some of the high edges. Comes with excellent grips and a post-war magazine. The bore is mint. The PP is a commercial gun from 1940. It is all matching and has retained about 96% of its original finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle, high edges of the slide, along the top of the slide, and at the base of the back strap. Comes with excellent grips and a period-correct magazine. Mint bore.
