Description
11/2/26 - For sale is a Spandau Gewehr 88(S) made in 1893. The rifle shows its age, with the bluing on its parts turning a mixture of dark grey and brown patina. The receiver is bright, as it had been cleaned by a prior owner. The stock has been lightly sanded, likely during the rework, and a crown/S stamp was added on the right side during the rebuild. The bore is a 7/10, fairly bright with good rifling, but there is corrosion at the muzzle. The left side of the receiver is stamped with a Landsturm unit marking, and there is a canceled unit marking on the rear band. The rear sight is properly modified for a G.88(S), with the top V notch ground out. The rifle has matching numbers on the following parts: bolt, bolt head, receiver, barrel jacket, trigger guard, rear barrel band and stock. The front band is mismatched and the rear sling loop is missing.
