Description
8/28/25 - This is a Colt Pocket Navy Model Cartridge Conversion Revolver in .38 Rimfire, made in 1861 in Hartford, Connecticut. There were about 10,000 of these made using existing percussion revolvers or parts and manufacturing new components to accept cartridges. The factory conversion of Colt’s percussion line coincided with the expiration of the S&W owned Rollin White Patent, from which Smith & Wesson benefitted greatly as they dominated the market for cartridge revolvers for over a decade. This one is mostly matching, except for the barrel wedge (un-numbered) and the loading gate (this is mismatched, but it should be). This one is fully functional and in fair condition overall. The cylinder scene has roughly 25% visibility. There is light pin-pricking and brown "attic patina" throughout. Some small dings in the metal here and there. Fitted with nice wood grips -some blemishes on the left side. The bore has good rifling, but there is some surface oxidation and light rust throughout. No FFL required. The barrel wedge fits a little loose.
