Description

9/6/19 - Made in 1903, this is a very interesting Colt Model 1877 Lightning revolver. As indicated in the accompanying Colt letter, this revolver was one of 1,200 that was purchased by the American Express Company for their express agents. The back strap is factory engraved 'Am. Exp. Co. 936', and the letter states it was shipped for agent C.E. Seaton. The gun is all original but the finish is thin throughout. Action and mechanics are good, and bore is excellent. 4.5 inch barrel, chambered for .38 caliber. Beautiful grips with only minor smoothing.
