Description
09/30/26 - For sale is a .71 Caliber German Danzig Model 1831 Potsdam Pattern Musket in 1838. The musket was likely used by the Union Army during the US Civil War. The metal had been heavily cleaned and has an almost sandblast-like finish on the barrel, lockplate, bayonet, and hammer. The brass parts have also been cleaned. The surface has numerous shallow pits all throughout. The stock has a bright color. There is a crack in front of the forward lockplate screw on the left side, about 2.5" long, and another crack between the upper tang and lockplate. The bore is dark. The hammer functions properly. The buttplate is stamped LWR, designating it for a Landwehr unit.
