Description
9/28/21 - This is a rare, early Remington UMC 1911 from 1918. Of the three manufacturers of U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. This pistol is a first-year Remington UMC production (1918), with proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. The frame is marked with the 'E' on the trigger guard. Barrel chamber is marked with a single "P", which is correct for Remington-UMC production. The finish shows thinning throughout, especially on the grip frame, but we also believe the finish is an old re-blue based off the faintness of the frame markings. Strong bore shows only minor use. Grips show their age and some handling wear. Two-tone mag.Specifications
