Description
10/19/26 - This is an excellent example of a BYF 42 "Black Widow" Mauser Luger issued to the German military in 1942. The "Black Widow" name comes from the black Bakelite grips and matching black-based magazines Mauser used during this period, which give these pistols their distinctive all-dark look and make them a favorite of Luger collectors. It is all matching, with the proper "Eagle 135" military acceptance proofs, and it is fitted with original "Black Widow" black Bakelite grips. It comes as a rig with two original "Black Widow" magazines, an "Eagle 655" tool, and an excellent 1942-dated holster. The gun has retained about 97% of its original finish, with very minor high edge and muzzle wear and light freckling on the grip straps. The bore is 8/10, with strong rifling and mostly shiny, but there is light freckling throughout.
