Description
10/21/26 - This is an excellent example of a Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in June of 1944, as dated by its serial number. Spreewerk, using the "cyq" code, was the third and last company to make the P.38 during WWII, alongside Walther and Mauser, building its pistols at its plant in Grottau in the occupied Sudetenland. It is all matching with the proper "Eagle 88" military acceptance proofs. The finish rates about 94%, with some minor thinning on the front strap and wear around the muzzle and on the front edges of the slide. There is also some spotty discoloration on the left side of the barrel and some scratches and marks here and there. Fitted with period-correct reddish phenolic grips and comes with a proper "Eagle 88" proofed Spreewerk magazine. Mint bore, 10/10.
