Description

12/14/22 - This is a very nice example of an Amberg Gewehr 98 rifle issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. The gun is entirely matching (including the stock), with the only exception being one of the screws in the trigger guard. It has the proper Imperial military proofs throughout. No import marks. It is rare to find an all-matching example with no import marks these days! Receiver and bolt are correctly in the white, with the majority of the bluing loss on the bands and trigger group. The barrel has retained most of its bluing with some wear around the muzzle from the included cap. The wood stock is numbered to match and has the proper Imperial proofs. There is no major damage - just small dings and handling marks throughout. The bore could use a good cleaning but has strong rifling throughout.
