Description
10/16/26 - For sale is an Eddystone Model 1917 chambered in .30-06 made in 1918. It is a non-refurbished rifle, with all parts stamped "E" for Eddystone. The rifle retains its original WW1 blued finish, which is turning an aging dark grey and brown, with some dark spots of oxidation. The stock is in great shape with a nice striped pattern. There are two tiny surface-level hairline cracks behind the tang. Behind the trigger guard is stamped "2R". The right side of the buttstock is stamped "C T MICHENER O-244045," which the prior owner believed to be a soldier who had possession of this rifle. The prior owner looked up and acquired the military history of the soldier, shown in the photos. The bore is bright with strong rifling. It comes with a leather sling, an original Model 1917 follower depressor for training, and a Model 1917 bayonet made by Remington. The bayonet blade had an enamel finish that has mostly flaked off, and the scabbard was painted an olive drab color.
