Description
2/14/22 - This is a scarce DWM military "sneak" Luger from the Weimar period in excellent condition. These are typically termed Sneak Lugers based on the lack of any identifying manufactures markings and proof marks, which the Nazis did to disguise their early rearmament efforts. This example has the correct blank chamber, but still retains the DWM marked front toggle assembly. The right side of the barrel extension has the early single "WaA66" Waffenamt proof indicating rework at the Mauser factory in 1929/30 along with the single "Crown/N" commercial proof on the left side, which is also duplicated on the breechblock and underside of the barrel. Every other example we have encountered has had police attributes but this one does not. No unit marking ever applied to the grip frame, no port for a sear safety, etc. The pistol is correctly in the 't' serial block and based on the lack of police indicators, this one was like intended for the military. This one is in great condition with 95-96% of the blue remaining. Minor finish loss on the trigger guard, sideplate, around the muzzle and a little on the straps. Excellent, sharply checkered grips. Unmarked Haenel magazine.Specifications
