08/12/2024 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor that has the rod bayonet installed. The bayonet is integral to the rifle and is stowed like the cleaning rod of other rifles. The metal is in great condition with a nice patina on the receiver and trapdoor. The barrel retains a nice bluing throughout with some wear towards the muzzle. The stock is in great condition without any cracks or breaks. The left side of the stock is stamped with inspection initials and 1891. The bore is bright with good visible rifling.
