06/18/2024 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Carbine made in 1879. The rifle is in great condition overall. The receiver is browned with age and bare metal is visible. The barrel still has its old bluing but is browning with age. The stock is in great condition with no cracks or breaks but many handling marks. The left side of the stock is stamped "SWP 1879" and the initials HMH are etched into it. The bore is bright with good rifling but there are spots of corrosion visible 2 inches down from the muzzle.
