Description
3/13/23 - This is an extraordinary, near one-of-a-kind find! This is an extremely early, original example of a Colt Model 1905 military pistol, with serial number 60! The Model 1905 was the first Colt semi-auto handgun produced in .45 ACP, and only eight pistols were completed in 1905, and this one was finished at the end of January in 1906. There were only ~6,000 total Model 1905's produced, but only ~440 were produced with a cut for a shoulder stock on the back strap. This particular example is recorded by serial in Goddard's book on Government Model 1911's, which states it was shipped to Salem G. LeValley Co on February 3rd of 1906. The pistol is all original with about 75-80% of the original blue remaining. There is visible finish loss in most areas, but the pistol still has a very nice look to it with a case hardened hammer and a peacock blue trigger. Excellent, original wood grips with no notable defects. Strong, shiny bore. The listing is complete with the super rare and original holster, which is in even better condition than the pistol. The leather remains strong with all of its stitching. It does show some age and cracking of course, but it looks great overall and connects smoothly to the stock cut on the pistol.Specifications
