Description
2/24/22 - This is an original example of an extraordinarily rare Thai Artillery Mauser Banner Luger from 1936 with rare, original matching stock. These are potentially the most rare Artillery Luger variants ever produced, with only 100 ordered by the Royal Thai Police, according to Ralph Shattuck's book. The serial range runs from 3453v-3552v and this one falls within that known range. This one has matching numbers throughout, including the original magazine. All these Thai Lugers have Siamese (Thai) numbers stamped on the rear of the frame, showing unit numbers in Thai. Each Luger also has the original Thai Police seal stamped in the same area. These guns also saw extensive use so are generally found in worn condition, and this one is no different. There is thinning/patina throughout, and some pitting on the sideplate and right side rail. The bore is generally shiny with strong rifling, and minor signs of use. The grips have some smoothing and handling wear but no cracks or chips. The stock has the matching serial number of the gun on the wood, and there's an adhered message in another language (presumably Thai?) that we can't translate/make out. The stock is in very good condition overall, with no cracks.Specifications
