05/20/26 - For sale is a is New England Westinghouse Model 1891 Mosin Nagant that was used by the Finnish Civil Guard. Russia would approach the United States during WW1 for assistance on manufacturing small arms. Remington and New England Westinghouse would tool up to produce the Model 1891 Mosin Nagant. After the October Revolution, the Communist government would default on their contract and Remington & N.E.W. were close to going bankrupt. The US Government would purchase many of these rifles and some of the rifles delivered to England would be redirect to the Finnish Government. Finland would also purchase many M91's throughout Europe and capture many during their independence.
This rifle has a nice deep matte bluing applied during a Finnish refurbishment. Light edge wear and surface scuffing. The stock shows plenty of surface wear but no cracks or breaks. The right side of the stock is stamped "AV3 12228". AV3 is a Finnish Arsenal and would stamp a serial number when they were made. The bore is fairly bright with good rifling. The muzzle area is darkening with light oxidation. The right side of the barrel shank is stamped S41149. The bolt is "Finn-Matching" with the barrel shank.
