Description
6/19/26- For sale is a WWI era German pickelhaube. The pickelhaube was a famous German helmet design that became synonymous with Imperial Germany and their military. The helmet was quickly abandoned during WWI once it became clear that the spike added a large target and the leather provided no protection against enemy artillery or gunfire. The helmet is made of shaped leather with moderate aging and what looks like a crack or cut on the back left portion. The fittings are all brass and generally intact except for a notable dent in the rear spine band. The leather interior is aged but intact. There is a small "57" sticker under the front brim and the name "Bode" scratched into the rear brim. Overall in very good condition.
