Description
10/22/21 - This is a gorgeous example of an early Colt Model 1909 revolver that was issued to the army that same year. This model featured as the service revolver for the U.S. military for a short period of time, as soldiers complained that the M1892 lacked stopping power and the double-action capability was preferred over the SAA. This particular firearm was shipped to the commanding officer at Springfield Armory in June of 1909, and this listing includes the Colt archive letter. It's all matching and original with about 95% of the original, lustrous Colt blue remaining. Standing high edge wear and turn mark on cylinder, as well as some thinning and patina on the grip frame. There are also a few small dings or surface scratches on the left side of the frame. Minty bore, hardly looks used. Beautiful fire blue on trigger. Right side of frame features both R.A.C. inspector mark and F.B. inspector mark. Grips appear original to the gun but right panel is chipped along the bottom.Specifications
