10/7/2024 - This is a 'bcd' code G43 rifle that was manufactured by Gustloff-Werke. These rifles were the first true production G43 rifles. They are characterized by the type 1 milled receiver and milled components. It is estimated that approximately only 40,000 of this type were produced. The left side of the receiver is marked "bcd 1143b G.43" along the bottom with an asterisk/sunburst proof mark above it. The metal retains a lot of this original finish but has plenty of wear. The stock has been sanded fairly aggressively. The name "Stuart" is written in cursive on the right side of the stock. The serial number is very faint on the bottom of the stock and matches the receiver. The rifle has matching serials throughout but the flapper locks are unnumbered. The bore is dark with some light shining through.
