8/6/21 - Original and great condition. H. Aston, antique martial pistol, in .54 caliber. Percussion, no serial number, 1842 model, matching numbers, SK proof marks (inspected by Samuel Knows, Springfield Armory). Beautiful Cherry wood with brass fittings. The metal was cleaned sometime in the past. Stamped with " MIDDTN / CONN" on side plate behind hammer, and dated, we believe with 1847. Most numbers worn off but visible by high magnification. Minor crack in the right side of the stock, however, it is secure. Many of these guns were used in the Civil War.
