Description
2/5/21 - This is a DWM Luger with a very interesting history - if only it could talk! It was made in 1917 and issued to the Imperial German Army during WW1. It has a double-dated chamber, meaning it was later reworked and issued to the police. On top of that, it has a Nazi waffen military proof on the right side of the slide, meaning it was issued to the military during WW2. It could have been given to the SS as they were typically the ones who got the leftover WW1 guns. Its story is lost to history, so we'll never know. It is all matching and in very nice condition. There is a "14" on the backstrap which we believe to be a police rack number. It has retained about 94% of its original bluing. There are areas of minor wear around the muzzle, side plate, chamber, high edges of the frame, and base of the front strap. There are areas of minor spotty oxidation, most noticeable on the side plate and around the muzzle. Comes with very nice wood grips and a blank-bottom WW2 magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is freckling throughout.Specifications
