SOLD - Kriegsmarine Minesweeper Badge (KW041624-4)

Description

4/17/24 - This is an original WW2 German Navy (Kriegsmarine) Minesweeper badge. The badge is an early tombac 1 piece construction. There are 7 waves under the central "splash", which is a type 1 (early) variation. Correct closure clasp and maker stamped on the back, "FEC. Otto Placzek Berlin - Ausf. Sch Berlin". This is for Carl Schwerin & Sohn. The badge shows patina and finish loss throughout the exterior / front of the badge. This is natural, honest wear however and helps to authenticate the piece without a doubt. The only notable flaw is that the top clasp appears to have been re-soldered. This looks like an older repair, and the price is reduced accordingly.
