Description
4/23/25 - This is a solid example of a WWI German Model 1898/05 "Butcher Blade" bayonet, manufactured in Solingen—Germany’s famed blade-making region. The blade retains its original shape and features the correct fuller, showing even patina with some pin-pricking and light discoloration throughout, but no major dings or signs of poor sharpening. The wood grips are in very nice condition, tight and well-preserved, with the classic ribbed design. The pommel bears two crisp Crown over C inspection marks, indicating Imperial German military acceptance. This example does not include a scabbard but remains a fine collectible piece with strong historical appeal.Specifications
