5/27/25 - This is an original Colt Single Action Army hammer, most likely from the 2nd Generation period of production between 1956 and 1974. It features more coarse checkering on the thumb spur. This checkering look to have either been wore down or modified. This hammer has a dull blued finish throughout. The hammer retains its full profile with clean notches and solid mechanical function. There is minor finish wear consistent with use, but no cracks, deep pitting, or structural concerns. This part is ideal for restoring a vintage Colt SAA or for use as a period-correct replacement.
