Matching Danzig Gewehr 98 - 1917 mfg

3/19/25 - For sale is a Gewehr 98 made by Danzig in 1917. The rifle is in its original configuration and was not converted to the ,common Gewehr 98M. The rifle is well worn and has scattered surface oxidation throughout the metal. The receiver is it'll in the white but freckled with oxidation. The barrel retains a blued finish but darkening with micro pitting and oxidation. The muzzle has dark orange/brownish spots of surface rust but is now in the metal. The stock had plenty of handling marks but in good condition overall but there is a couple splinters in front of the trigger guard that looks to have been glued or pressed into place. The bore is bright with strong rifling until the muzzle with the dark orange oxidation. We've tried cleaning it with a 8mm bore brush but does not comes out. The rifle has matching numbers from the bolt down to the action screws including the stock and handguard. The rear barrel band sping is stiff and stuck in the stock and needs to be freed.
