Description
10/07/26 - This is an all matching and original G33/40 Mountain Carbine made by Waffenfabrik Brunn of Czechoslovakia under German occupation in 1942. These carbines were based on the Vz.33 used by the Czech Army prior to occupation and were issued to the German Mountain Infantry during WW2. The metal plate on the left side of the butt protected the stock when the rifle was used for assistance in climbing. This one is dated 1942 and has the "dot" factory code on the receiver. The receiver and barrel retain a nice, slightly aging bluing with some light freckling of oxidation on the surface and the usual wear spots showing bare metal. The magazine floor plate has almost no finish left. The stock has been sanded but is free of any cracks or breaks, and its serial number is faint. The handguard has a crack behind the rear sight. The bore is bright with strong rifling and faint oxidation in the grooves. It comes with an original German WW2 leather sling. All numbered parts are matching. Matching G33/40s have been more and more difficult to find the last few years, and we've had only 3 or 4 in the last few years.
