Description

3/21/18 -  This is a very nice example of an early “Conehammer” variation of the Mauser Broomhandle pistol, made in 1898, chambered in potent .30 Mauser caliber.  It retains about 85-90% of its original finish with some light patina mixed in. It is all matching, including grips and has a good bore.  All the markings and proofs are sharp.   The “conehammer” C96 variation was the earliest type of Mauser Broomhandle made and had a cone shaped hammer, which gave the gun its name. When developed in the late 1890s, it was ahead of its time both in firepower and the magazine capacity, and was purchased privately by many British officers, including Churchill himself,  just in time for Boer War.  This is an antique and no FFL is required (unless required by your state).
