Description

5/27/21 - This is a nice example of a "Red 9" Mauser C96 Rig issued to the Imperial German military during WW1. The gun is all matching and has the proper Imperial proofs. It gets its name for the "Red 9" etched into the grips, indicating the gun is chambered in the 9mm military cartridge. This one has visible "9's" on the grips, but the red paint is mostly worn. It comes with an un-numbered Mauser wood stock. There are a couple of hairline cracks in the wood. The gun has retained roughly 60% of its original finish. Generally, there is spotty wear on the straps and most of the high edges. Thinning on the barrel. There is spotty pitting throughout. The grips are matching. The bore has decent rifling with pin-pricking throughout.
