Description

7/10/20 - This is a super rare and desirable Type 14 Nambu that was made in September of 1939. The change in production to the large trigger guard occurred at this time, and only about 5,750 pistols qualify as first variation "large guards" where all other features remained the same. This pistol falls in the proper serial range for this variation. Derby & Brown's book on Japanese handguns calls this variation "highly desirable" and estimated that the value was "two to three times those of the 'typical' Type 14". This particular example is all matching and original, with 98% of the original blue. There's hardly any bluing loss to speak of, just a spot or two on the trigger guard. The grips are also in fantastic condition but unnumbered. Magazine is mismatched but correct in that it was also made at the Kokubunji factory. Bore is terrific, hardly looks used.
