Description
4/28/22 - This is a very nice example of a Nambu Type 26 revolver rig. The Type 26 or Model 26 "hammerless" revolver was the first modern revolver adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army. It was developed at the Koishikawa Arsenal and is named for its year of adoption in the Japanese dating system (the 26th year of the reign of the Meiji emperor, i.e., 1893). The revolver saw action in conflicts including the Russo-Japanese War, World War I and World War II. This particular gun comes with a very nice period-correct leather holster, though the cleaning rod has caused some damage at the end of the rod pouch. The gun itself has retained about 95% of its finish. Most of the finish loss is on the left side of the barrel, but there is also some freckling and a series of small dings on the left side of the frame. Excellent wood grips and a minty bore.Specifications
