Description
3/24/21 - This is a 'bcd' code G43 rifle that was manufactured by Gustloff-Werke. These rifles were the first true production G43 rifles. They are characterized by the type 1 milled receiver and milled components. It is estimated that approximately only 40,000 of this type were produced with the probability that this model was assembled at the Buchenwald concentration camp under the SS, as noted in "Hitler's Garands". The left side of the receiver is marked "bcd 5335 G.43" along the bottom with an asterisk/sunburst proof mark above it. The matching bolt carrier is also the early type 2 rough cast version similar to the G41 series of rifles that retains the solid cocking knob on the left side and the bolt hold open latch on the right side without the reinforcing web on top. The rifle is in fantastic condition with hardly any finish loss on the metal parts. Stock in similarly great shape with sharp cartouches on the left side. Bore is mint. Magazine has 'gcb' maker code and WaA892 proofs.Specifications
