08/11/26 - For sale is an Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine chambered in .30 Carbine and made at the very end of 1944. The carbine had been overhauled at the Augusta Arsenal after WW2. The carbine has an aging phosphate finish with a brownish tint developing on the surface. The stock is an original M1A1 stock with the correct markings. The internal channel is stamped IO. The exterior has AAM stamp for Augusta Arsenal. The bottom of the pistol grip is stamped RI with the small Ordnance Wheel. The cheek rest rivets are marked 7/4 as is seen on Arsenal reworked carbines. The buttplate has the proper forge markings. There is a 1" crack above the AAM where the recoil plate is secured to the body. The Handguard appears to be an arsenal replacement, but there is no maker stamp underneath. The bore is very bright with strong rifling. The carbine is nearly correct for one made in 1944 but the firing pin is Underwood marked. Comes with a 15 round magazine still wrapped in wax.
