Description
05/11/26 - For sale is a U.S. Nowich Model 1861 Percussion Rifle chambered in .58 caliber. The rifle is in "relic" condition, like it was found in a barn. The metal has uniform surface pitting throughout the top surface. At the woodline, we can see some deeper pitting under the stock. The stock is clean, but there is a 1" crack behind the lockplate. The left side of the stock has some letters and graffiti cut into it. The original Springfield inspector mark is all but gone. The forend shows more wear and surface damage. The bore is dark without much of the rifling showing through. The action functions properly and the trigger break is clean. The rifle comes with a correct socket bayonet that is in similar condition. The surface is pitted but structurally sound.
We recommend being inspected by a gunsmith if you intend to shoot it.
