Description
7/6/26 - This is a unique 1911-A1 carrying rack manufactured at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The rack is a solid wooden board with six leather pouches and straps meant to securely hold 1911-A1 pistols. The board is about 18x16 inches. The leather is somewhat stiff but it has been tested and a 1911-A1 will still fit securely. Each side is marked with "Pistol Rack .45 Cal Colt Auto. Pistol Model 1911-A1 Ord. Dr No 42807 Mfg At Navy Yard, Phila, PA.". All six pouches and straps are present and intact. The fittings have some patina present, but are still strong and secure. This is a very cool, scarce piece that is in overall very good condition.
