Description

11/17/23 - This is a Mauser C96 "Red 9" pistol that was produced for the German military during WWI and subsequently reworked for the Weimar Police in accordance with the Treaty of Versailles. Blade front and notch rear sights, with a rough milled section in the area where the tangent sight would have been located. Nearly all numbers match, including the grips, but the bolt is mismatched. The pistol has the original blue but it does show thinning on all high edges and the grip frame. There is a unit marking on the front grip strap but it is now too faint to make out clearly. Bore has strong rifling but a little freckling in the grooves. The listing includes a leather C96 holster with strap.
