Description
11/29/21 - This is a very desirable early Model 1902 "American Eagle" Luger pistol that is in mint condition. These are rare with the fat barrel, as only 600-700 were ever produced in total, all for commercial sales in the United States. This model was a continuation of the earlier 1902 commercial Luger however these were specifically intended for the U.S. market, and these were the first 9mm chambered Lugers. This pistol has the short old style frame with leaf springs and no stock lug, recessed breech block, dished toggles with toggle lock and grip safety. The barrel extension is also the short old model with the top of the chamber area roll marked with the prominent "American Eagle" crest, with the front toggle correctly marked with the "DWM" logo. The bluing on this one rates at about 99+%, but finish appears professionally restored. There's just a tiny hint of freckling under the blue on the grip safety and the dish toggle. Mint grips and bore. This example comes in a custom display case that has two spare magazines, a cleaning rod, a reproduction manual, a box of vintage Winchester ammo, a takedown tool and a punch tool. We believe the tools are all after-market. The three magazines are period original but the 'Cal 9m/m' markings on the bases are not.Specifications
