Description
8/7/25 - This is a very rare and highly desirable Colt M1911A1 that was made in 1942 and issued to the U.S. Navy. It's one of only 3,982 ordered by the Navy in 1942, and part of the last batch of 1911A1s ordered by them. Unfortunately, the slide is numbered but mismatched. Colt barrel with a large "G" under the lug. It comes as a rig with nice period-correct tan leather shoulder holster and a WWI-era two-tone magazine. The gun's parkerized finish rates about 94-95%. There is general high edge wear, muzzle wear, minor thinning on the front strap, and small surface scuffs on both sides of the slide. The left side of the frame has been stamped with someone's name "J.W.GALIHER". "J.W.G." is stamped at the right front of the frame and on the right side of the tang. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips. Has an earlier wide trigger variant. The rifling in the bore is fairly worn with noticeable pitting throughout.
