8/5/19 - This is a rare and highly desirable Colt 1911A1 that was manufactured in 1939 for the US Navy. There were only ~3,600 1911A1s produced that year, and all were issued to the Navy. This pistol is all matching and correct, with about 95% of the gorgeous and famed Colt brushed blue remaining. The profile view is excellent with only minor edge wear, but the front strap does show some browning of the finish throughout, and accounts for the vast majority of the finish loss. The slide is numbered and matching to the frame. Proper Colt barrel with 'G' under the lug. Bore is minty, and grips show only minor handling wear. Grips are correct pre-war examples with 28 diamonds between grip screws. Two-tone magazine with a 'B' on the toe.
