3/9/22 - This is a rare, early Walther P.38 from 1940 that's referred to as the "40 added" variation, one of only 6,000 produced. At some point during the production of these pistols, the Germans decided to start adding the two digit date for the year of manufacture, but the 'ac' marking had already been applied to the slides. So the 40 isn't centered on the slide, and sits just above the lower edge. This one is all matching and original, including the grips. The magazine is Walther-made with 'ac' code on body but is unnumbered. The pistol has about 94-95% of the original blue remaining, with high edge wear around the slide and muzzle. Good mechanics, including de-cocker. Bore has strong rifling with just a little frost.
