Description
07/06/26 - For sale is a Remington Model 1903 made in early 1942 that was sent to England as aid under the Lend-Lease Act. After the adoption of the M1 Garand, 1903s were sent to many countries. British used rifles were observed on examples with serial numbers under 3.1 million. The rifle is in great shape with a nice phosphate finish throughout. The finish shows wear on the bolt body. The left side of the rear sight base has the British proof marks stamped. The top of the barrel between the two bands of the nose cap has a Crown BNP stamp. The stock has light surface wear but great shape overall. The left side of the stock is stamped with the Cross Cannons and the early RLB Inspector stamp. Bore is bright with great rifling, but some surface oxidation is visible in the grooves about 2 inches from the muzzle. Muzzle erosion rating is 1.5.
