Description

4/28/21 - This is a very early and highly desirable Army Colt Model 1911 that was manufactured in 1912, one of the first 2,500 ever produced! It is original and in beautiful condition, as many surviving examples are quite worn. The blue rates at about 90%, with speckled wear on the left side of the slide, and minor finish loss on the straps. The lustrous Colt blue is deep and bright. Early Colt barrel with just an 'H' on the face of it, as does the frame internally. Bore is excellent with strong rifling. Rare, early 'keyhole' magazine. Gorgeous grips. All around a beautiful example of one the most iconic and collectible US military pistols.
