Description
03/20/26 - This is an Walther Olympia Jaeger pistol which is personalized to an unknown individual or orginaization, with their initials stamped on the gun and the included presentation case. These are particularly scarce, even relative to the rare standard long-barreled Olympia target models. This prewar commercial pistol was made in the late 1930s during the Nazi era and represents the scarce short-barreled hunting variation of the Olympia line, developed from the design associated with the 1936 Berlin Olympic competition pistols. It is a single-action, blowback pistol with internal hammer, push-button magazine release, adjustable rear sight, and a 4 5/8" barrel chambered in .22 LR. The left side is properly marked with the Walther banner, Zella-Mehlis address, and Olympia-Pistole legend, with period gold initials “K.B.” applied at the front of the slide. The frame and slide are matching serial numbered 3169 O (o for olympia), the internal grip panels are numbered to the gun, and the extended walnut magazine base is also numbered to the pistol. The magazine is customized to this pistol, with checkered metal top and wood bottom that allow it to seamlessly integrate into the pistol aesthetically. Overall condition is excellent, with about 98% of the original blue remaining, and only light handling wear, faint thinning, and a few scattered marks visible along the barrel and slide, plus minor edge wear at the muzzle and backstrap. The coarsely checkered walnut target grips with right hand thumb rest are gorgeous, showing sharp checkering and only light handling wear. The bore is minty, bright with sharp rifling, and the mechanics are excellent. Included is the original fitted luggage-style case with green felt lining, one numbered magazine, period ammunition box (empty), Walther tin, and cleaning accessories. The presentation case is mostly excellent, with the left closure functional but slightly finicky.
