Description

10/3/23 - This is a very rare Remington Model 40-X rifle with U.S.M.C. PROPERTY roll mark on receiver, one of 2,200 produced. Introduced in 1955, this early 40-X wears a 28" medium-heavy barrel with factory supplied scope blocks and comes with a set of the rare, original Redfield Olympic target sights. The bluing is original and in excellent condition with most of the wear and patina on the floorplate and trigger guard. Mint bore and terrific stock with no notable wear. The buttplate does show some age and deterioration. There is a broken screw head that attaches the sight slider so it is a little loose.
