6/25/21 - This is a rare JP Sauer Bar Pistol, manufactured in the late 1800's. The B?§r is a double barreled revolver, with a square 4-chamber block. The barrel is market ÄúB?§r Pistol.Äù The chamber block is marked ÄúDeutschland, 98382 PATENTÄù, and on the other side: ÄúBelgien 134215, England, Russia and North America.Äù It carries the double crowned U Suhl proofmark. The chamber block is removed from the pistol, and loaded with 4 cartridges and replaced. The gun will now fire two shots double action. The button on top of the pistol is then depressed and the chamber block turned by hand. The remaining two shots can now be fired. The B?§r was marketed as a pistol that combined the revolverÄôs reliability and the flatness of an automatic. When FN promoted the sale of their model 1900, the competition for the B?§r pistol proved too strong and its production stopped. This one is all matching and has retained about 70% of its finish. Most of the wear is on the block, where there is also spotty patina. Areas of spotty wear and freckling here and there throughout. Comes with nice checkered grips - chip on the right side. The bores are nice with good rifling. The gun has a weak trigger spring - you have to pull up on the trigger to get it to reset.
